Get involved: Invitation to join Clinician Advisory Committee for the Eating Disorders Foundation of Canada

Calling all eating disorder clinicians,

As some of you may have heard, the National Initiative for Eating Disorders (NIED), spearheaded by Wendy Preskow, mom of a long time eating disorder sufferer, has been stepping its way across the nation and into Federal politics! NIED has been the catalyst for a nation-wide foundation, which will be meeting on October 4th, 2013.

Planning meetings are underway with parent representatives and professionals from across Canada, with plans to form a steering committee for the foundation – building on the accomplishments of the Eating Disorders Foundation of Canada anchored in London, Ontario.

I have been asked to contact eating disorder clinicians from across Canada to inquire about their interest in taking part in a Clinician Advisory Committee to the foundation.  One of the goals of the foundation is to build a national research strategy.

Dr. Chuck Emmrys (New Brunswick) together with Wendy Preskow (Ontario) are co-chairing the planning meetings and the in-person meeting in October taking place in Toronto.

Could you let me know if you would like me to put your name forward to be considered for membership on the Clinician Advisory Committee?  Feel free to suggest names of other clinicians from your province.

Please note, there are no terms of reference as of yet for this committee.

I look forward to your response re: expression of interest.
